The World Cup. The only sporting event that can justifiably use the term “World” in its title. It’s the competition that brings every nation together in a celebration of the beautiful game. But the World Cup is more than a game; it’s a global occasion, an international spectacle, it’s about those special moments where one single action causes a multicultural torrent of reactions.
Becks seeing red in ‘98, ’86’s Hand of God, Pele’s football trickery of ‘58 and who could forget ‘that famous phrase’ from ‘66? We want to know what the World thinks are the greatest moments ever in the Cup’s history. Dribbling a ball down memory lane, we’ve listed a series of iconic moments that are in some way special to us. Tell us what you think of them by voting and commenting plus share what other moments should be included and we’ll add them to The Hall of Fame.
With so many classic clips to discuss, we’d be really grateful if you would tell people about us. You can follow all the latest happenings via twitter at http://twitter.com/itstheworldcup
